PHOTOGRAPHY NOTICE
Bustani Bistro is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all attendees in compliance with the Kenyan Data Protection Act, 2019 (KDPA). This detailed statement provides transparency regarding the capture and use of photographs and video footage (“Media”) at our events.

The personal data collected includes:
- Image and Likeness: Photographs and video footage that capture your physical appearance.

By attending a Bustani Bistro event, you provide your explicit consent for the processing of your image and likeness for the purposes outlined above.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Storage: Media is stored securely on Bustani Bistro’s internal servers and cloud platforms with appropriate technical and organizational measures in place to prevent unauthorized access.
- Retention: Media will be retained for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the stated marketing and archival purposes, or until consent is explicitly withdrawn, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymized where possible.
5. Data Subject Rights (Your Rights Under KDPA)
As a data subject, you have the following rights concerning your personal data:
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to the processing of your data.
- Right to Rectification and Erasure (Removal): If you identify an image or video of yourself that has been used, you have the right to request its removal (erasure).
6. Exercising Your Rights (Opt-Out Procedure)
- Prior to Capture (Opting Out at the Event): If you do not wish to be included in any Media capture, please immediately inform the designated photographer or a Bustani Bistro staff member upon your arrival. We will make reasonable efforts to respect your request and exclude you from general coverage.
- Post-Capture (Requesting Removal): To request the removal of an image or video already published, or to exercise any other KDPA right, please contact the Data Controller directly via the bustanibistro@gmail.com or 0799 909 340
We will respond to all valid requests promptly and take all necessary steps to remove the content from our platforms.
